These tiny butterflies are painted in oils on antique ivory piano keys. The process is slow with as many as 8 layers of paint applied to each one and 4-5 days of drying time between each layer. Ivory is not readily available, thank goodness, and I'm always on the search for beyond-repair pianos. The keys are mounted on archival mat board and framed making the overall size approximately 3" x 4". Frame styles may vary. Please specify gold or silver.
